Title:website
Location:Though the work can be completed remotely monthly meetings will also be required.
Job Description
I would like to get in touch with web developers to work on a consumer friendly magazine style/ guide website.
The site will be clean in design/ user friendly and include a section which will allow users to search specific criteria to bring up a list of venues (with visuals). The site will also inlude ad banners and need a way of collecting email addressses from users who are interested in signing up for a monthly newsletter.
Beside the initial build this is likely to have monthly updates so a content management system would be required as well as someone who could commit to updating the system and potentially send out & track e-shots. In addition, tracking stats of the number of website's hits and clicks through to ads/ other websites would also be required.
I'm interested in hearing from developers who are able to build high quality sites & who are also happy to work with a designer (or if also a web designer are happy to be art directed).
This is a new but hopefully exciting & on going venture.
The budget isn't massive but would hopefully become ongoing work for the right partner.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Clarification Board
S. P. on 25/08/2010 14:26Hi Catherine, thanks for posting this project.
How important is it to you that the developer remains on-board to manage the content and eMarketing? With a properly-configured system you would be able to edit the content yourself, and the marketing shots could do all the tracking and statistical work themselves.
Could you also tell me if you are looking for just a developer, or someone who can also design the site? Or do you already have a designer on-board/have your own design planned out?
Regards,
Stuart Pinfold

C. L. on 25/08/2010 23:07Hi Stuart
If the system is easy to update then that should be okay, though ideally I would like a reliable developer in place to update anything more complex/ update adverts/ maintain/ develop the site further as it grows.
At the momemt I'm looking for quotes from developer/ designers and developers - I have a potential designer onboard though not set in stone.
Hope this helps
Catherine
M. P. on 25/08/2010 14:39This seems like something that I can do using WordPress.
WordPress can be used as a CMS, Blog and with the right plugin, used to collect email address'.
For the web statistics, I would recommend using Google analytics.
For your e-shots, I highly recommend Mail Chimp. It pretty much has everything down in terms of email marketing with tracking and all that stuff included. This is however a third party service and would have to be payed for and managed separately - though it IS worth it. It works on a credit system so you only buy credits for the amount of emails you want to send out and it's priced fairly well.
If this all sounds good to you then please let me know.
Do you already have hosting and a domain sorted out?
Kind regards,
Michael.

C. L. on 25/08/2010 22:56Hi Michael
Thanks for your message, do you deal with design & development? I have the domain name & debating whether to sort hosting myself or have it included by the developer depending on what seems more effective.
If you want to submit a quote/ send me any links to sites you've created that would be fab. The site will be a magazine style webiste/ guide so will look very clean in design and user friendly.
Hope this helps

A. R. on 25/08/2010 15:31Hi Catherine,
I would be assuming the art/graphic/conceptual design content would be supplied by yourself?
Any time frame on this project?

Anthony Roche
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
