Description
Experience Level: Entry
The opportunity of a lifetime – for the right person.
We are a fast-growing online publishing startup from Manhattan in a multi-million dollar market. Watch us as we create our flagship course inspiring entrepreneurs to dramatically grow their businesses by hiring a global workforce.
Our company’s advisers include one of the world’s record-breaking digital marketers – someone who literally advises titans like Apple in their Internet marketing strategy, and routinely creates multi-million dollar product launches over the span of a few days. Learning the techniques that he will share with us will not only put you on the cutting edge of online marketing but it will give you something every employer wants: real world experience.
Imagine working with a fun, inspiring, supportive team, and being able to take bragging rights for helping build a seven-figure business from the ground up. That’s the opportunity we present.
To our assistant: we’d like you to be a self-starter with impeccable writing and research skills. Although we have a pretty good plan for this position's role, the advantage of working with us is that we're always open to try things. You would work in a position where you can express your talent fully. Let's see what we can come up with together.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
- What it takes to do a multi-million dollar product launch (hint: lots of work and hustle!)
- How to manage a global team
- Inevitably, you’ll be exposed to digital marketing as we go through brand development, driving traffic, revenue, website development, SEM, SEO, email marketing, social media development, online partnerships, retargeting and more.
REQUIREMENTS:
English may not be your first language, but no one can ever tell that because your writing skills are **superb**
- Highly motivated, self-starter
- Reliable - always meets deadlines
- A+ Grammar, written communication skills
- Killer research skills – endless curiosity. You can find anything on Google.
- Fast, ultra-productive, with an eye for detail and accuracy
- Experience within PR or journalism is a big plus
- Unlimited friendliness :)
Next steps:
We believe that hiring is a lot like dating, and that you don't always find the right fit for both people on your first try. ;-)
This is a competitive position. We are going to be doing a series of test-tasks with different workers with short term assignments until we can find the right fit.
Some sample tasks would include
* Developing reports telling us more about our customer based on what's already out in the market place
* Developing detailed lists of different industry players to see who would make the best strategic partners based on Twitter / Facebook / Followers etc.
* Possibly helping us organize course content in logical structures.
* Reviewing client websites to find common trends and report back your findings
* Writing e-mails and possibly making phone calls occasionally with a Skype account
* General personal assistance
Please write all responses to Bonnie, not sir, madame or hiring manager. If you would like to make your application stand out from the 70+ typical respondents, here's a simple test assignment that should take you no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
This will help me filter through who is sending me spammy-boiler plate cover-letters and who actually really wants to be a part of this really amazing opportunity. (It will be the only unpaid assignment as I believe in paying people for their time) and again it should only take 10 minutes max to complete.)
TEST assignment: Check out the attached document. In there you will see a list of topics that one of our affiliates is using to target her audience. Because we know that she really understands her audience - a lot of the questions can be reverse-engineered into qualities about our target market. IE. if a topic says...
"Is Your Business A Homewrecker? 3 Steps To Save Your Marriage" We know that the target audience is likely married and probably also concerned that her business could get in the way of her relationship or if a topic says "Viral Marketing 6 Steps to Make Your Content Contagious" we know that the target market is interested in getting lots of traffic. If a topic says "4 Keys To Dealing With Criticism" We know that she is sensitive to criticism.
I'd like you to review the list of topics and come up with a short description of some common traits that you feel would apply to our target audience based on the list of topics attached in the sample.doc.
If you can do this well, I will know that your English level and intuition is at the right place for us to move forward and will definitely be at the top of my list to take the next steps. :)
Thank you so much for reading this, and I really look forward to the possibility of working with you soon. :)
