Web Based Interactive Digital Map

Hi guys!

I am a Visual Designer and I am looking for a talented web developer to assist me in developing a small web program / application.

At the moment this project is in beginning stage therefore no assets have been produced or any other materials but if this project will take off all necessary storyboards, wireframes and other GUI elements will be provided as we go along. Also no decisions have been made regarding any web technologies that will be used for this project, but preferable it needs to be as HTML/CSS type program rather than Flash based, so all decisions regarding which programming languages will be used will be made on the go and from your expertise.

Project idea: Using a World Map (e.g. Google Maps) as a notice board, I would like to create a program that will allow people to log on to it (same log-in details for all users), and ‘drop a pin’ on a global location which connects them to a person (my brother). Attached to this pin, they would be able to write a message and if possible to upload a picture which explains the story of why this place connects the 2 of them. People / users can make multiple entries if they wish. The end product should be an interactive digital map of the world with various flags / pins which people can open and read.

So this is the idea in a nutshell but obviously because this is just a concept and only a mental model of what this program should be, there is a lot of room for changes or alternative solutions.

The deadline for this project is June 21st, so if you think it’s too soon for this project then please consider other projects and those who think that they have what it takes to make it happen please note that it must go live before the deadline.

On this project you will be working with me so I as a Visual Designer I will provide all graphical assets or any other necessary materials and hopeful we will have something good at the end of it.

Please note that this is not a commercial project and no money will be made from it. In regards to your remuneration this is something that we can discuss further, very much depending on the time needed to complete this project.
