Clarification Board

Hi can you clarify that you have linked the remaining pages to your homepage as from checking your site no links have been added, could you please confirm this then we can give you an accurate bid

Thanks Jimmy James

Hi Maha.

I could do it for you. However I would be remiss if I didn't mention if all the pages are like the home page the site will be invisible to search engines. You've chopped it up in photoshop then done a save foe web - html and images. Unfortunately web design is a little more complex. My advice is get a professional to do it for you.

As I said I could upload for you, but I really would be doing you a disservice.

Best of luck

Hi Maha,

is your site working right on locahost means on your local machine? I think you need good ftp client like zilezilla..

regards,
Najeeb.

Hi Maha,

Your site is very wide! 1500px is far to big. Also, there are no links to the other pages...
Finally, table based layouts are generally frowned upon - you should try using div instead.

Regards,

Lee

I think you have a photoshop template (psd files) and would like to code this one in HTML?
G. H.G. H. on 23/01/2011 21:11
Hi Maha

I have to agree with other commentors here - your website project is doomed to failure if it consists of pages like the one you have uploaded. You need to combine CSS positioned images, actual text (not image files with text on them) and properly structured XHTML that doesn't use tables for standard layout. If this terminology doesn't mean anything to you, then you are out of your depth and you will need to hire the services of a web designer to do the required work for you. Just being able to operate the basics of Dreamweaver doesn't make someone a web designer.

What you have at the moment is a Photoshop layout. Instead of simply cutting up and uploading the layout, you need someone to separate the graphics from the text and turn it into a properly constructed, working web page.

If I were you, I would cancel this job and re-write it asking for someone to do the above for you. That will give you the fully working website that you are asking for. If you pay someone to do what you have done with the rest of the pages, then you will have a website that doesn't really work and that won't show up on the search engines, so it will all have been a waste of time.

I hope this information is of help for you. I would be happy to bid for an amended job, but as it is now, I would really be taking your money and giving you something useless in return.

Best wishes - Grant

Hi Maha

The first thing I would need to know is if there are any features on the other pages apart from standard text or images.

I see you have used 123-reg for the hosting. Which package are you using? I am a PHP developer, but as the Starter package doesn't support PHP, I would be limited to creating a standard HTML site. This may be ok, but could cause issues if you ever want to expand the site in future. Ideally you need to be on at least the 123-reg Plus account. Alternatively, I can provide my own hosting which will give you everything you need. Whether that's any good to you depends if you have committed to longer than the minimum 3 months with 123-reg.

Your original Photoshop files would need to be available with all the layers intact, so I can strip out the background images without the text on top.

If you can get back to me with the above, I'll put together a bid for you.

Kind regards

Grant

Please provide me your files as attachments so I can evaluate and provide a workaround using old school methods.

Dear Maha,

All you require is filezilla which is freely downloadable at its website. Google "filezilla download" Why waste money when you can do it yourself?

Best regards,
Iqbal

Uh oh,

are you trying to upload a psd file directly? if so, ignore my earlier message. You do need a coder to cut up your psd and create css and html.

Best,
Iqbal
