Title:thinking of moving my site to wordpress

Location:Remote

Job Description

I have a website at www.car-stuff.net, currently it is on a windows server running a shopping cart system called candypress. ( the buy now buttons are deavtivated so it is really a catalogue type set up)

The site is well ranked on google for what I do but I am considering moving the site to wordpress. I have many pages that have the same page titles etc due to the limitations of the asp candypress system. ( do a site:www.car-stuff.net on google to see this)
I want to use more video in the future and I feel wordpress will handle this better. I would want to keep the design similar to how it is now and maybe use a static front page? (advice on this one?)

I would need all the cars in my gallery/blog moving into a separate alphabetical gallery system with seo friendly url\'s and a lightbox system for images .

My main aims are - improve the seo ( I am stuck on a windows server as my quotation system that is on my site needs to stay there, enhance the design, I would need to make sure that seo friendly page names are implemented, there is a way to do this on windows, , integrate a blog into the main site, show twitter feeds, etc.

take into consideration all the indexed pages in google and take care of this with robits.txt or redirects.

Maybe customisation of an existing them like http://www.elegantthemes.com/preview/Polished/ may be an option.

Hi Nick,

My (free) advice is don't waste your time and money moving to WordPress. Your budget is way too small to improve on what you already have - although I'm sure someone here will be more than happy to take it from you! Meanwhile, your current provider appears to have built some excellent sites for other businesses on a variety of different platforms. If you can find a bit more clarity on what you want and be realistic about price I'm sure they'll continue to do an excellent job for you and your business. Nice windows.

Thanks for the advice - Like I say, I am considering a move, nothing planned yet.
My budget is pretty tight right now and seo is more important than changing my design too much as it works right now.
