Structural Survey

Whilst refurbishing, we widened a doorway in a non load bearing wall of a top floor one bedroom apartment and the management company require a structural survey to confirm it is safe. This was done by our highly experienced builder and there\'s no reason to believe it isn\'t.

The apartment is on the top floor under a flat concrete roof which spans the whole building. The roof construction is beam and block. The wall in which the doorway was widened is not therefore load bearing. When it was widened, the builder put in a concrete lintel.

The apartment is in the Manchester area of the UK. I can send photos and answer any questions.

I am looking for a suitably qualified person such as a structural surveyor or engineer to check it out and supply a report for the management company\'s files.
