Description
Experience Level: Expert
General information for the website: Setting up a secondary failover server
Description of requirements/features: My customer needs a backup failover server for an ecommerce site.
The primary and secondary servers has to be automatically synced and monitored. When the primary is down, traffic should be automatically redirected to the secondary, until the primary is up again (then re synced and switched back to it)
Email should be sent notifying us on every switch.
The primary server is a dedicated Apache and we access through cPanel and WHM, the database is MySQL.
The applications I know are running on the server, besides the website proper, are:
Ruby On Rails
CGI
Python
Perl
SSH
SSI
Cron
Curl 7.20.0+
FrontPage
Image Magick
PHP 5.2.13+ with Zend Optimizer
Fantastico
phpMyAdmin
ionCube Loader (decodes php files for CMS and frontend)
Redmine
We also use GeoIP to prevent some countries access the site.
The site use SSL from PositiveSSL by Comodo
If there are several options, I would like to know the benefits of each, prices and timeline, and details you will need.
Thanks
