J. D. on 10/03/2010 12:00Hi Kris
Have you considered telemarketing, appointment making int he first instance as in my experience around 1% will respond to a letter.
Kind regards
Jamie

K. M. on 11/03/2010 12:23I did conciser it, but I first write a letter then follow up with a phone call. I hate cold calls, so suspect others feel the same.
J. B. on 10/03/2010 12:01Hi Kris
I would like to bid for this project but PPH seem to be saying it is not in my category
Could you please invite me to bid
Many thanks
C. C. on 11/03/2010 15:48Hi Kris
I wonder if I can ask you some questions?
1. Do you have a list of potential customers?
2. Are you planning on emailing or sending through the post?
3. Is this something that you would want the successful person to carry out, together with a follow up telephone call?
It would help to know the answers to these questions prior to me bidding for the project.
Many thanks
Chris

K. M. on 12/03/2010 22:52Hi,
This is something that will be adapted for various groups of potential clients. We would send these out regularly to a different industry. We generally do followup phone calls ourselves, but may be something we would conciser outsourcing.
J. E. on 17/03/2010 19:50Hi Kris
I echo some of the comments made below.
I offer a range of consultancy / support services in addition to my Telesales / Telemarketing service offering. From my perspective you should take a more 'holistic' approach to the whole project - looking at make initial calls to prospects to find out what their needs are, BEFORE sending a detailed outline of what you offer - and then follow up with another call.
You could also consider other ways of helping your business grow and flourish.
What geographical area are you in?
Kind regards
Julie

K. M. on 19/03/2010 23:31Thanks Julie,
Although I'm open to ideas, I hate my day being interrupted by people on the phone trying to sell me things. I don't want to be that person who annoys others.
J. E. on 23/03/2010 15:42I am quite happy being that person who contacts others - on your behalf! If you are bringing value to someone's life/work by offering them a service which they would not otherwise have known about - and which will help them in business - how can it possibly be a nuisance call!
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
