Please clarify the "international travel required".
Thank you.

The minimum requirement is a week training which is normally in the Netherlands. Then there are infrequent conferences which are normally approx 2 days. More travel to additional conferences can be arranged should you wish.

Hi
Can specify please your target countries?

We would prefer you to concentrate on African coastal countries excluding countries bordering the Med.
R. G.R. G. on 25/01/2012 16:33
1) Is your interest restricted to a minimum contract value ?
2) Would information gleaned from resident construction companies be counter productive? I ask this question as I\'m not sure in which discipline your interest lies, and I do have regular contact with some of the bigger civil construction firms.

RG, Good questions,

1) Yes, a value of interest to international contractors,
2) The discipline we specialise in, can require a seperate tender or can sometimes be a sub-contract from a main civils contractor.

Your links with civil construction firms are interesting, and we wish to hear more about your experience and requirements.

Thank you for clarifying the international travel. Apart from The Netherlands for training, can you tell me which countries are involved for the conferences, please?

We do not send anyone to conferences in countries they really do not wish to travel to.

From memory I think there are conferences in South Africa, Tunisia, Morocco, but you would not need to go to all of them. You would discuss your availability within our team and choose the conferences best suited.
R. G.R. G. on 26/01/2012 10:26
I have dealings with 3 companies, they are fairly big players in the South African and African context, with contracts throughout Africa and the UAE. One of the contractors was involved in the Gautrain Project, and another is currently involved in the ongoing Toll Road development.
2) My question with regard to the discipline you had an interest in was to ascertain whether your intelligence gathering needed to be at the point of conception of a project, so that your company would in fact be tendering, or would you have services or product to offer other companies who had already won contracts?

We track projects from point of conception to contract award.
By doing this we provide data on new contracting opportunities to our clients, on a subscription basis.
R. G.R. G. on 26/01/2012 10:50
I see now, you understand I had to clarify the involvement so as not to compromise my relationship with these companies, or appear to have any conflict of interest.

P. N.P. N. on 26/01/2012 10:53
We do not track the rail market nor the road construction market so I doubt there would be any conflict of interest.
R. G.R. G. on 26/01/2012 11:10
No problem, with that covered then, how you propose remuneration for this type of data or information, how is the quality of the data measured ?

Very relevant questions.
We normally work on an hours-per-week payment basis.
Our editorial standards are strictly applied, but we also understand that hard work can be done, sometimes with few concrete results, so there is a reasonable amount of give and take. Working within a team ensures our published output can be consistent, regardless of individuals highs or lows.
We have a trial period, when it becomes quickly apparent if the person is capable and if the job is suitable?
RG. We would be glad to receive a bid from you, have you bid yet?

Ok.
The following countries are a match : SENEGAL - GUINEA-- COTE DIVOIRE- BENIN- SIERRA LEONE - LIBERIA -GAMBIA- TOGO- GUINEA BISSAU- CAP VERT- GHANA -SOUTH AFRICA- MAURITANIA- NIGERIA but I would not recommand this country because of Social and political permanent unstability.
