Title:Quickbooks help
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
I have been using SAGE but want to change to Quickbooks as I have been told it is more user friendly and more appropriate for our small business, SAGE was sold to me by my last accountant, no doubt to make life easier for them, I have sort of trained myself on it but finding it impossible to show anyone else. I have downloaded the free version of Quickbooks at the moment but having trouble making sense of it for our particular business, we are a restaurant and work with our suppliers on, mostly 30 days credit, there does not seem to be anywhere you can log this? only cash, cheque and credit card payments. I know it is a general bookeeping system but is there any way you can use it so that you can enter invoices as they come in and then allocate payment once made (30 days later, sometimes more?) This is only an advice job that will probably be no more than 2 hours work initially and preferably via telephone

J. C. on 11/03/2010 00:25Dear War1endy
The problem you have should not require paid for help, the simple answer is that you need to upgrade from the basic version of quickbooks that you currently have as it does not allow you to operate a purchase ledger which is what you want.
You need to be using QB Pro or Premier depending on whether or not you want to be issuing sales order etc. I would always recommend Premier as it has lots of useful features but you should make uop your own mind by reviewing the software comparison chart on the quickbooks website.
Good luck with this

A. G. on 11/03/2010 09:42Hello
You are correct in saying that Quickbooks is easier to use than Sage for the basic accounting of a company. The dashboard is alot different at first but easier once you know
I am able to give training on the phone 30minutes will aid you to get started and then I am sure you will be able to continue. I would not charge for this and have a 0800 number so it would be free. What is in it for me? Nothing to start with but you may want to have onsite training and inputting to get you up to date for which I would charge an hourly rate. I will bid with this in mind

Thankyou for the invitation to bid for this project.
Unfortunately I am tied up with another project at the moment and am unable to assist you for the next few weeks.
The message from Jason below may be all you need anyway to set you on the right track.
Good luck
