C. S. on 07/09/2010 09:42Hi Valeria
Many thanks for inviting me to bid. Your product range looks fabulous! However, unfortunately, I'm unable to meet with your requirements for both time required and budget available.
Best of luck!

F. M. on 07/09/2010 12:49Hi there,
I am an experienced freelance PR consultant but I also have a keen interest in jewellery, with contacts in the fashion press as well as the jewellery making magazines.
Would be great to find out more about the jewellery brand and if you already have a few products to go to press with to help launch the brand?
On sending a press release you really need to follow up by calling the media regularly to push the product, are you willing to pay for those hours too if they were logged and kept concise? I could give you a quote around your budget if you are able to give me a bit more info please?
If you could let me know the the price range of the jewellery it would really help to guide which magazines to target and thus give you an honest opinion on what the possibilities are.
Many thanks
Farah
L. G. on 08/09/2010 00:14Hi Valeria
Thank you for inviting me to bid. I will have to decline as I am working on another assignment which means I would not be able to start within the week.
Best of luck in promoting the jewellery chain.
Regards, Rupa
E. G. on 11/09/2010 16:00I am wondering why all of the messages have been deleted by the client! I wonder if they mentioned anything about how you can employ a PR person (or anyone for that matter) for £4 an hour!!!

V. C. on 16/09/2010 12:50Dear Ella,
thank you for your contribution. I am not forcing anyone to work for that money and, as a matter of fact, I am considering hiring someone for a much higher rate per hour than the one stated.
I appreciate constructive comments in which professionals highlight how difficult it is to work on such a tight budget but, notwithstanding that, they prepare a plan and tell me how much they would charge for.
Your comment is just a waste of time as you did not present any offer.
All the best.
Rgds,
Valeria
E. G. on 16/09/2010 13:03Thanks for your email and apologise if I offended you. I just found it odd that there were so many deleted messages and yes, I was a little shocked at the budget range (hence me not applying as that would have been a waste of my time).
I am glad you are now considering offering a more realistic figure as I think you would have been disapointed with the results otherwise. Hopefully now you will get a fab person and some briliant PR results.
I wish you the best of luck hiring a PR person.
Kind regards,
Ella
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
