Could you let me know how you intend to provide the material we would use to write this novel? Could you also let me know if you have interest from a publisher?

400 pages is actually very long at the moment and publishers prefer shorter books, so unless you have interest from a publisher for a book of this length I wouldn't advise it. About 80,000-120,000 words is more typical of a first novel, so not more than 300 pages maximum.

Asking a ghostwriter to work on a book is expensive as so many hours are involved, even if the writer works for a minimum wage. I always feel it's important to say that, especially as it's incredibly difficult to find a publisher so it's a lot to pay unless you do have interest from a publisher or agent from the outset.

Hello,

Could you give me the following information:
what is the timescale for completion of the project
what is the overall price and how much will be offered as a deposit
will you need to meet or can we discuss the project via email and phone.

Thankyou.

Hello,

Many thanks for inviting me to bid on your project.

I also need to know if the book will definitely be 400 pages, is this a figure you have in mind from looking at other similar books?

In addition to the previous question about publishing, I'm wondering if you are considering marketing the book yourself and publishing it outside of the mainstream publishing houses? You would then have more creative flexibility. And the book could be published through a print on demand service, which is how most of the books in the High Street are printed anyway.

Many thanks

Christopher

Hi, what total word count are you aiming for? I would normally estimate 400 pages to be about 200,000 words. That could be up to a year's work if a lot of consultation and research are required!

Many thanks,
Sophie

Hello,
I cannot help but agree with Adele - 400 pages from an unknown writer will be rejected by any publisher. If you're publishing it yourself, it will be too expensive - i.e. you won't get the costs (editing, priniting, advertising and distribution costs mainly) of the book back in sales.

People do not pay much (if any) more for a 300-page book than a 150-page book and publishers are business people - cost versus benefit just does not work unless people are clamouring for your book.

I can do the job but I'd hate you to waste your money.

Kind regards
Philip Bradbury

Hi there this sounds like an interesting novel... I have a background in writing and have written a novel two... also promotional work... also have done some proof reading for a very famous novel writer in London.

What is the purpose of this 400 pager and how have you structured what you want?
I am sure that I could deliver if you have the idea and the main bits of what you want in it... a designer book ... like it... and makes it easier for me to work with... a receipe

I\'m in the process of getting my first novel published now.

So this is a good time to start on a new novel.

What do you see as the best \

Hello,
As an experienced ghost writer, I am interested in your project. However I need to have some idea of your budget please. Then I can clearly explain what I could do for you.
All the best
Kathryn

I would be perfect for this. I am Swedish but go to England every other week since my children live there. I have lived in England for almost 10 years and in America for 6 years and have grown up all around the world, living in several developing countries. I have been flying all my life and still fly every other week, and five of my classmates from School in Malaysia have worked as air hostesses. I think I could very easily write this story because it is so similar to mine. I am yearning to write a book about someone living this sort of live among so many different cultures. Plese let me do this for you!

I just wanted to emphasise that I can't bid for the job since I live in England. Is there perhaps a way you can change the criteria for the reasons that I just wrote to you about, bearing in mind that I have lived in England for so long and spend every other weekend there.

Hi
This is an intriguing opportunity. I am an award winning playwright and screenwriter currently working on my own first novel. I've written non fiction books before, ghosted an autobiography and done scads of TV, radio and theatre - both original work and adaptations. I'd love to hear more about your project and what you think it will involve.

I would, though, suggest that 100,000 words would be the most appropriate target - and of course the work is not just in the writing, it's in the revision. Have you a time scale and budget in mind? And - without wishing to put a damper on anything - do you understand how difficult it is to place a first novel with a publisher? I would hate you to end up out of pocket.

Best wishes
Shaun McKenna
