Job Description
Hi,
We are looking at developing / creating a new website - information and e-commerce based (Full redesign of site and realisation of corporate brand) as we feel our existing website is now slightly out of date as well as not being search engine friendly.
We have always been complimneted by our customers at the ease of navigation and the uncluttered nature and our existing site and this is something we are keen to keep in any future developments. However, it's starting to look a little old as well as needing more features to help promote and sell the products.
I would be grateful if you could provide me with an approximate cost for a new website as well as individually detailing/costing for the following services / bolt ons:
* Data retrieved from existing site and ported into existing site
* Amazon like Features (related products, cross sells and up sells) / product browsing features.
* Video Module
* Zoom Functionality
* Social Media Implementation
* Newsletter Functions Please find attached full
We would require the CMS aspect side of things to be fully controlled by us as well as good Analytics and Reporting. If you're planning on using an off the shelf package shuch as Actinic please can you indicate this in your quotation
Please contact me if you require any further information or have any further questions.
Links / examples of previous work would be useful.

A. M. on 30/07/2010 10:59We're open to suggestions and advise with regards to what would be the best platform.
M. B. on 28/07/2010 11:31Hi Adam,
Could you please provide more detail about your existing website? What platform does your website use? PHP or ASP?
Also, does your website currently use a CMS or E-Commerce system?
Could you please details roughly how many categories/products and pages your current website has?
As for your new website, can you confirm the reporting functionality that you would like?
Lastly, I was shocked to see that you have 16 bids already on your project, yet none of the bidders have asked any questions at all! I cannot see that anyone can quote accurately without asking further questions about your project.
I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Regards,
Matthew Bourne

Developer that built has ceased trading. With regards to reporting functionality, nothing too complex or complicated but if we could see basic financials etc and any other information that would help us operate, understand and develope our business. Sorry to be vague!Please call me if you need to discuss things in more detailAdam01908 240900

A. M. on 30/07/2010 20:28Not that I am aware of, I was led to believe it was a bespoke design.
N. R. on 31/07/2010 01:35Is it possible to upload a couple of snapshots of your admin side? This would clarify a lot of things.
The kind of features you are requesting, it would be very cost effective if we use Magento Commerce (PHP based open source framework) instead of developing bespoke system.
Magento commerce is very powerful and advanced.
What kind of hosting server do you have currently? Is it shared or dedicated?
Thanks,
NileshR
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
