Need a program that scrapes data from websites and automatically populates fields on other websites

I don't know a lot about this, so I apologize in advance if this request sounds stupidly amateurish, but I know there are programs written now that can accomplish this. I'm going to create website templates, and I would like to employ a program that scrapes or retrieves data from defined websites and then populates the corresponding field in the template. So, for instance, if I was creating a template to help an author sell a book, the program would be able to go to amazon.com, retrieve the title, length, author, and an image, and populate these fields on a website template that I would then publish for that specific book. (I know this is illegal, and that isn't the actual purpose. Just trying to make sure everyone is clear.) I will build the website template to your specifications. I just need the data retrieval program. Ideally, it would be great if I could find someone who had already written a similar program that I could try out that we could then re-purpose for my business. Please feel free to be as informative as possible in your reply. Obviously I have a lot to learn here, and any information you can offer will be helpful.
