Description of legal work: On 10/12/2013 i was given a CCJ from Northampton County Court. This was for an unpaid parking fine.
The offence happened in February 2013. I parked in a car park (on a retail park) to visit my gym (the gym is on the retail park so is the proper place to park) and stayed longer than the 2 hours they allow. A 3rd party parking firm then apparently sent me a letter saying i had overstayed and that i owed them money. I did not receive this letter because i moved from my address from which the car was registered to. In fact i didn't receive a single letter of anything to do with this matter at my new address. I have just gone for a mortgage application and found out that i have have this CCJ! The value of it is £150.
My question is, is there anyway i can get this removed as i feel it is incredibly unfair to give me a CCJ when i didn't receive any letters regarding this matter. Apparently i am entitled to stay parked in that car park for more than 2 hours if i notify the gym of my number plate but i didn't do this. Either way if i had known about the pending court judgment over this i would of paid the fine long before a CCJ had come about as other than that my credit history is exemplary.
I just need advice on if i can get the CCJ removed and what the best approach is.
