I need a function in a google spreadsheet that creates a calendar appointment

General information for the business: trading firm
Description of requirements/functionality: Function should be able to be run manually and not duplicate events. It would be handy to have a clean up option that wiped all the events that were no longer on the sheet (sheet is started fresh daily).

I need a function for a Google spreadsheet that creates an all day Google calendar event from a date in a cell and names the event with the contents of another cell in the same row. The calendar is not used for anything other than what appears on the sheet, currently there is other data on the sheet but it's all irrelevant for this.
