Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Num. of articles: 1 per week
Words per article: 350
Blog/website url: http://custblog.dmclub.net/
Information for the blog/website: customer engagement
Industry: Technology
Topic: Telecoms
Tone: Enthusiastic
Outline & Structure: WHAT WE WANT
dmClub offers the widest range of numbers, services and price plans of any UK telecoms supplier. Our numbers are so flexible you can combine any number with any service and any plan (and change your mind at any time).
dmClub believes in supplying innovative yet affordable telecoms products. Working closely with our research & development partners, dmClub delivers cost-effective numbers and services that address business challenges and help companies to work smarter on a day-to-day basis.
dmClub would like to engage more with its members through regular blogs. We are looking for a copy writer who is able to communicate our brand values of straight-talking common sense, innovation, trendspotting and delivering succinct messaging through great articles that speak to what we can do for our customers.
We currently have three blogs with different foci: a news blog, a technical blog and a business blog.
We are looking for writers who are adept at writing for one or more of the above audiences – we would be happy with a specialist in each area – with a flair for making technical, regulatory and what-WE-think-is-interesting-but-is-hard-to-make-‘sexy’-in-print more engaging.
This is purely a writing job. We will also be engaging an editor to oversee the style, content, use of images and headlines.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
3-4 x weekly blogs per month (one article per week) of approx. 350 words on a subject to be given to you in rough draft/copy format.
For you to interview the relevant expert here at dmClub to obtain any further information required for you to write the article, especially around technical and regulatory topics. This can be done virtually if required.
To be able to turn the copy around within a minimum of 48 hours (although we will aim to establish a repository of stories to begin with so that we are always working ahead of schedule).
INTERESTED?
If you are interested in applying for this ongoing project, please respond with your rate, state which of the blog foci you are keen to write for and include an example of something you have written, in a similar vein, by Monday, 13th October 2014.
To view our blog please visit: http://custblog.dmclub.net/ . If, when applying, you would like to comment on how you would improve the articles then that would be helpful, but for the purpose of application we are not asking for a re-write.
We will shortlist the applicants who will then be paid to undertake a small writing project for us. This will go to a panel for decision.
CREATING LONG-TERM CONTRACTOR RELATIONSHIPS
Our company has an ethos of developing long-term relationships with contractors with whom we have enjoyed working and who deliver on deadline and to spec.
Extra notes: REQUIRED SKILL SET
HARD SKILLS
Native English speaker (and ability to write/edit in British/World English).
Demonstrated ability to write for a small business audience.
SOFT SKILLS
Deadline-driven
Self-managing
Good at managing expectations through effective communication.
An understanding of, or interest in, technical industries (e.g. telephony, cloud computing, virtual trading) would be advantageous.
Availability to commit to writing for the above mentioned schedule on a continuous basis.
Journalist experience would be a plus but not essential.
