Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
General information for the business: Number plate builder
Description of every module: I need help with my number plate builder (desktop version located here: http://www.plate-trader.com/number_plate_builder.php and mobile version here: http://www.plate-trader.com/number_plate_builder_mobile.php).
As far as I can see, the page is a php file, which links to one of 3 different javascript files depending on which device the customer is using (desktop, tablet or mobile). There are a few problems with it and I am looking for someone to fix them.
Description of requirements/functionality: The problems may be with the instant payment notification file (ipn.php) or may be with the js files, I'm not sure.
What I do know is that ipn file sends an email to us when someone completes an order and makes a payment, with the details of their order. The email looks like this:
"The following order has been placed
-------------------------
Email Address: email@email.com
Details Of Order:
Plate Text: A123 ABC
Font Style: 3D
Bottom Text:
Border (1 = Yes and 0 = No): 0
Badge: UKLegal
Badge Name: http://www.plate-trader.com/badges/legal3.png
BS Marker: No
Plates Ordered: frontandback
Type: Show Plate
-------------------------
You can now process the order"
The problems are that:
1. If they want a show plate, they can customise things like the bottom text, have non legal badges etc. (the best way for you to see this is to try the builder out for yourself). The email that it sends us though, still sends us the custom bottom text etc. on road legal orders. This is presumably when they've customised the plate, before then selecting road legal. As you can imagine this causes a lot of confusion.
2. Sometimes border says Undefined so we have no idea whether the customer wanted a border or not.
3. If someone selects a badge then removes it, I THINK the badge field updates, but the badge name field still shows the address of the badge. This is very confusing and we don't know whether they want a badge or not because when we've checked with customers, sometimes this is correct and sometimes it isn't.
4. Very occasionally we get a completely blank order with all the details missing.
5. Sometimes the end of the email is cut off, so we don't know if they wanted a show or road legal plate.
It would be much easier if it could email us an image of their order or is that's not possible then at least a 100% accurate email.
It would also be great if it could email the customer the details of their order for them to check.
Specific technologies required: javascript, php
