Finalize our company SharePoint site

I have set up our SharePoint site as much as I can. I need help finzaling it. We are a very small company (8people), so the job itself won't be that big. Points I struggle with;
- moving one site under another site
- layout of each site (show the libraries/calendar/to do bar, those kind of things)

We need this job done sooner rather then later, as all of our documents are currently being stored on people's laptops and nowhere else.
