Description
Experience Level: Expert
Please note that UK-based developers will be given greater consideration for this project.
Modigy are looking for someone to develop an iOS (iPhone and iPad) social commerce app along with accompanying website. Think of it as Facebook meets Amazon for car enthusiasts.
There is nothing too dissimilar from Facebook in terms of the social networking side of things except that users have vehicle profiles as well as their own personal profile. You can see a rough prototype here: http://www.justinmind.com/usernote/token.action?token=AcNVfq8oHdvHJ_n4ieDn
Advertising functionality should be built-in so revenue can be generated through display ads, sponsored stories and promoted posts. Advertising functions should offer a cost per impression model built on a bidding platform similar to Facebook and Google.
What makes our idea different to many social networks is the e-commerce functionality. Similar to Amazon or eBay, users can sign up to have a merchant account (page) where they can list inventory to sell through Modigy. When users purchase products through the shop they get rewarded with achievements and points and go onto leaderboards.
Ultimately for users we require a social network. For merchant accounts (businesses) we need their business 'pages' along with an integrated advertising and e-commerce back-end.
We expect the project to be completed within 6 months and 600 hours. We have a designer who should be able to deliver all of the graphics so consider this in your proposal.
We would be interested in seeing what experience you have in building a social network as well as integrating a white-label e-commerce platform.
Depending on your proposals, we may consider a staged approach where the social network is built now with the e-commerce platform in mind for later development. We have received quotes to develop this site for cheaper that the budget indicated however we want to ensure we get the quality needed for a successful launch.
The seller can work remotely but, depending on investor funding, there may be a requirement to work from a shared working space in Shoreditch some days.
More information on the business idea can be supplied to interested applicants.
