Create a two part wordpress website

I would like a design of 2 connecting sites built in Wordpress:

First site - predominantly a directory site:

We want this to be the first place that anyone that is looking for a UK hairdresser will go to. This site will predominantly be a directory site of UK hairdressers, but it must have additional features such as:

- hair videos
- hair gallery
- opinion polls
- some articles

In regards to the directory, there are a few hair directories out there, but none that are great. We want to create the best looking, most user-friendly directory there is. Please see as an example of a directory site I like: http://directory.lovebrown.com/members/afrotherapy-salon/

Second site:

This website is for hairdressers. The key features of this site are:

- articles
- opinion polls
- video enabled
- list of salon vacancies
