Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
Information for the business: We make online games
Industry: Entertainment
Design details: We're building some football based games and need a 3D artist to create a basic textured 3D football using only reference images. It won't require any shading or highlights as we'll apply these in Flash. The football in question is the new Nike Barclays English Premier League football, which we only have reference images of, not a full texture, so the bulk of the work will be redrawing/creating the texture and applying it to a sphere.
We want to use the football in a couple of online games, so once the 3D model is textured we'll need a number of rotation animations on a number of axis (probably 7 - rotations around each of the X, Y, and Z axes and the 4 'mid-axes') just as transparent PNG sequences, plus the 3D file in case we need any further rotations/animations (needs to be compatible with Google Sketch-up).
The football will only be 40x40px on screen, so the detail can be relatively simple - I'd want to see an example of the texture before it was applied to ensure it was detailed enough though (attached image shows how it will look in-game).
Ideas for the visual style: As described above
Preferred colors: Blue English Premier League version
Urls to draw inspiration from: http://www.soccerbible.com/performance/football-equipment/nike-unveil-la-liga-epl-serie-a-1415-match-balls/
Extra notes:
Just to confirm, deliverables are:
- texture design for review
- 7x rotation animations of textured ball, delivered as image sequences (one direction around X, Y, Z and 4 mid-axes) - no easing/acceleration, 30 frames each rotation
- delivery of a Sktech-Up-compatible 3D file in case we need to do further rotations ourselves
