Description of requirements/features: Hi PPHers!
This is a website that deals with Wills and estate planning, and enduring powers of attorney for those that are unable to make financial and medical decisions themselves.
The main requirement should be that the site is accessible as often the users of the site will themselves be elderly.
This means maintaining good contrast between text and background, and all navigation and content should work with a screen reader for those with seeing difficulties. Please refer to accessibility standards on the web and be sure you are familiar with them prior to applying. Note that the requirement to have the text size user controlled may add additional complexity to responsive layouts.
The pages should be built using the latest Zurb Foundation framework.
If you wish to take on this project, please include a *single* site representative of your work, along with a link or file containing the SCSS file(s) that produced it.
Any generic responses will be declined, please respond to this job with details of your relevant experience, and your understanding of accessibility standards in websites. If you are an agency, please have the person intended to be assigned to the work respond.
Applicants will be screened via PPH questions and answers, please do not request a skype interview, one will be offered as needed.
Extra notes: - The website should rely on flexible/fluid grids instead of predefined screen sizes, thus making it adapt to all viewports (responsive, not adaptive)
- Provide default rules for basic elements on pages (paragraphs, headings, links, etc) based on the PSD files
- Clean, well commented and consistently formatted code
- Due to the nature of this project test with a screen reader and other available tools to make sure all areas of the website are accessible
- Keep in mind that the html will be ported to a CMS so the code should be easily editable, and repeatable elements should be repeatable by the cms, without hardcoding classes. Individual elements - such as call out boxes, should be self-contained so they can be reused in different places
- Use ems/rems for font sizes so the 'Readjust Settings' widget can easily update the sizes dynamically - determine how this should survive a page load
- Where elements collapse or expand due to interaction, CSS transitions should be used
- All CSS and styling rules should be in an external file
- All JS and jQuery behavior should be in an external file
- CSS and JS should be minimisable such as by use of Grunt
- Check with https://gsnedders.html5.org/outliner/ for the correct sectioning of the document
- W3C successful validation on all pages
- The pages produced will be converted to be used with the MODx CMS.
