Title:company accounts, winding down
Location:South West london/surrey
Job Description
We are winding down our company and need to produce final accounts. There has not been much activity (turnover about £30k), and most of the book-keeping has been done on Quickbooks and Excel, so not a complex job. There are not many funds left in the bank so cannot afford previous accountancy fees. Ideally need a qualified accountant to work on an hourly consulting basis to ensure statutory paperwork is all correct and input info into HMRC website etc. It would probably involve 2-3 short meetings to go through everything and less than a day's work. Budget max £800

J. B. on 24/02/2010 22:40Why do you need a qualified accountant? Any accountant with basic company accounts knowledge can do this. There is no stipulation as to the qualification providing that your turnover is below £5.6m.

R. L. on 24/02/2010 23:41Hi,
I am a Hampshire based Small Business Accountant and i'm around 60-70 miles from you. If you would be happy to communicate via phone and transfer information via email and post then I will be more than happy to bid for you. If you would need to meet then I would need to know as my bid will be more if I am having to travel to you.
For a turnover of £30,000 and with most book keeping already done by yourself you shouldn't be paying anywhere near the £500-£750 budget.

P. T. on 25/02/2010 01:24Hi
Did the company make a loss and if so was it in to the thousands? Also is this the company's first year of trading?
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
