Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I am in search of someone who can assist me by programming a tool for use in data analysis.
For purpose of discussion, lets call the tool that I am asking you to program a "Calculator". You can suggest the concept and format you think would be most effective.
I want to use this tool organize and process research data developed during the handicapping phase of determining the outcome of a horse race.
In each contest we have already narrowed the field of contestants down to "Contenders" (up to 6 qty)
A. B. C. D. E. F.
Inputs 1 to 6
Margin of error this group contains the winner = input 7
There can be up to 10 different independant variables that all strive to forecast who will win the race. I want to enter values for each contender for each of these variables = inputs 8 through 17 x 6
Each variable (8-17) will award points to each contender on a scale between 0 and 100
Each independant variable (8-17) will be given its own overall weight based on its historical accuracy as a variable in correctly predicting the outcome of the race, expressed as a percentage = input 18 through 27
Now that I have established these criteria, we can speculate on each contenders chances of winning, and conversely his and his opponents chances of losing.
I would like to correctly model this data in order to create accuarate implied probabilities for each contender.
The algreba needed to combine this data into an accurate forcast model is where I need help.
Please feel free to offer any observations or ask any questions.
