D. P. on 03/09/2010 12:16Hi, Have you already purchased the upgrade package?
If so is this work just for upgrading the application them converting your current skin to work within the new version?
Can you provide a link to your current site.
Thanks
Dan

S. C. on 03/09/2010 12:58yes the upgrade is purchased and our hosting company have tried to upgrade with help from aspdotnetstorefront.
however he isnt an asp programmer.
and the aspdotnet guy isnt that helpful
the website is www.goactivemobility.co.uk
D. P. on 03/09/2010 13:52sorry last question do you also have the original db and files intact from previous to this person doing the work that seems to have broken the system?
i.e. do you have a backup of your system or does your host?

S. C. on 08/09/2010 17:22hi we have backups and to be fair found out it wasnt him. it was actually aspdotnet that cant get it to work
but also the custom skin used is custom skin 1
so there isnt a lot of deviation from this
S. C. on 04/09/2010 11:33Hi from our internet hosting guy
"It's easy to explain too them as they will already know what's what. "
You have bought the new version 9 and just need the current version 7 upgraded.
They will need a copy of the database to work with which is not a problem.
Only maybe one sticking point , they cannot have access to the server except for FTP anything else I will need to do for them. IA won't allow it.
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
