Job Description

Write product descriptions for a new e-commerce website selling Indoor Gardening / Hydroponics Equipment (nutrients, light bulbs, grow tents, auto feeding systems etc).

Writing Style: I want you to write in a friend to friend sort of way, so not too formal. I will give you some examples to follow for consistency/style. If you can do better, great! - I want you to write with personality, try not to make it boring, but most importantly educate the reader on the products.

Some words that might help you emulate the sort of style I'm trying to achieve: Chatty, Friendly, Lively, Energetic, Quirky, Witty, Light-Hearted (and Educational).

The Primary Target Market - Supplied in PM

The purpose of the description is to encourage the reader to hit the "Add to Trolley" button, and purchase the product.

Timescale - As soon as possible - I will give you 1 description first, then bigger batches once I'm confident you know what I want (Batches of about 5-25).

The quality of the descriptions is the most important thing to me but if quoting per hour please give me a rough idea of about how many descriptions you expect to do in an hour.

I haven't included a word count in the brief as it will vary from product to product... I don't want words for words sake, just make sure all the points are included.

For each product you will be given a link to a website containing the product.

You will still need to google the product because the url link provided is just 1 description and does not contain all the features and benefits. There are many better descriptions online to gather info from.

INSTRUCTIONS

Write a catchy attention grabbing heading for each description, like on the attached document.

Try to use the title (keyword) twice in the copy if you can.

The description should talk about the benefits of the product based on the features - not just the features. And should include a call-to-action. Follow these guidelines http://www.ehow.com/how_2046106_write-product-description.html

The call-to-action will be followed by a generic Satisfaction Guarantee statement which has already been written. See example file attached for layout, and use this document as a template.

You should list any product specifications at the bottom, such as dimensions, weight, and any other relevant info you find, you can just do it as a list because this info will be inputted into the website separately, like on this website (click the spec button) http://www.rei.com/product/796368/eagle-creek-pack-it-folder-15

Descriptions will be checked against copyscape. No duplicate work will be accepted.

You agree by bidding to allow 2 revisions per description, this is incase you have missed any key points or written in the wrong style etc.
