Title:Wordpress Site and Database problems
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
I\'m new to wordpress and php but have been getting by until now.
I installed the piano-black theme a while ago annd have had no troubles with it till now. I have a large quantity of pages and products and I still have to add more. The trouble is that now if I add any page to the menu either sub or main the navigation bar will drop the latest top level page.
It is like I have reached a critical amount and cannot add any more. Is this the case with the theme? I expect it isn\'t but I\'m completely at a loss as to why this is happening. I need someone to look at the code and figure out why this is happening.
I had previously installed a plugin that I think caused a conflict with another. I deactivated this and deleted it and thought that this had solved the problem. It seems that maybe it hasn\'t.
Techincal requirements:
WordPress Plugin
PHP
CSS
MySQL
HTML

O. W. on 31/03/2011 12:08Thanks I will give it a go. It seems you are right it works fine with the twenty ten theme. Hmmmmm....
A. I. on 31/03/2011 11:51Hi Oliver,
the problem maybe due to the menu css width already being fix to some pixel, so the next page added cause it to drop the page.
You can try to change the width by applying 100% rather than specific pixel so it become fluid width.

Anuar

O. W. on 31/03/2011 12:08Hi, thanks for the reply. I don't think I made myself clear. It is not a case of it dropping the page or even not displaying the new page in the nav bar. It is the fact that the nav bar does not link to the page. I have chacked the permalinks and urls and they are fine (please see what I mean) - http://www.gardnertackle.net/wordpress/ - the contact page is the problem. This had the plugin that I think conflicted with another I installed. Ever since it has not been read properly.
Actually I think you may be right it seems that it is the theme throwing out nav bar. I will try what you suggest. Many thanks again.

O. W. on 31/03/2011 12:16Here is the url - http://www.gardnertackle.net/wordpress/ - it is the contact page not working. Thanks to the later reply I have realised it is the theme causing the problem.
O. W. on 31/03/2011 12:12You are right, it is the theme, I changed to Twenty ten and it worked fine.
A. I. on 31/03/2011 12:37I see, the contact page unclickable. there no reference url to click at contact gt menu.

O. W. on 31/03/2011 12:47Yeah you're right, well that's new it had been fine last time I looked. I have deacitvated all the plugins that I thought might be causing this issue with no luck. The pages seem to be losing their urls within the nav bar. Weird...
A. I. on 31/03/2011 12:50Okay then,
Right now am downloading the piano theme, also please inform me with the plugin that you use, so I can take a look at my local server what have been wrong with.

Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
