Title:Website design and development for start-up

Location:Anywhere

Job Description

We are looking for a talented website designer and developer to work with us on the following project:

- Design and development of 8 - 12 page website for start-up business
- Business will sell downloadable electronic articles and so website will need appropriate online payment functionality
- Corporate logo and identity work has already been completed so design aspect of the project will not need to be started from scratch
- Project also includes basic input to design / presentation aspects of the electronic articles themselves (approx 6 articles of around 10 pages each)
- No input required on website or article copy

We are not wedded to one particular development platform or package and are looking to the designer / developer to suggest the best options based on our requirements.

The attached documents provide a more detailed project brief, including a (non-technical) overview of the likely user pathways and required functionality. (Note: Please view .PDF if you can't open .key)

We would agree key project milestones with the freelancer based on their guidance and advice but, broadly speaking, we would expect the designer / developer to complete the following steps:

- Fully understand the project brief based on information provided and additional correspondence with us, as necessary
- Produce a technical specification based on our requirements
- Undertake concept work
- Carry out template build and site structure development
- Undertake programming and any bespoke development, as required
- Integration, and possible customisation, of any third party platforms (e-commerce, payment gateways etc)
- Populate site with content, including basic input to design / presentation aspects of the electronic articles
- Test site and launch

We are keen for the project to begin in July 2011 and for all aspects, up to and including testing, be completed by 2 September 2011. Launch will likely be in late September 2011 / early October 2011.

Please do contact us through the People Per Hour website if you have any questions or points for clarification.

Hi

Can you change the attached 'Key_functionlaity_and user_pathways.key' to a .pdf or .doc, whatever the extension should be as I cannot open the file :)

Cheers

Hi,

I have read through your spec and have experience in setting up ecommerce aspects of sites as well as subscription websites.

Before I bid on your job, can you tell me which payment gateway(s) you would be looking to use? paypal, worldpay, sagepay etc

Thanks

Hi John

Thanks for your message.

At this stage we don't have a preference on which payment gateway to use. We're therefore open to suggestions....

Kind regards
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I have a number of ideas. I am wondering if you have researched possible solutions as to which ones you might favour for the digital download aspect (if any)

Things that I am thinking:-

1) Bespoke solution
2) E-junkie
3) Prestashop (has a secure download facility)
4) Wordpress with download plugin
5) Joomla with custom development

Can you tell me if any of these are out of the question before I place a bid, or which you would favour?

Thanks

Hello Ryan

We've developed quite a few sites that sell electronic (virtual) products, such as eBooks, music and computer software, so the development side of things is well within our grasp. The technology we use ensures that the "products" are inaccessible until payment has been received, and (if you want) you can restrict the downloads to a specified time-frame (eg: must download within 10 days, etc).

My question relates to the FORMAT of your electronic documents. Will these be PDF, for example?

Hi Ryan,

Can we take care of the development aspect with simple design. We are only a development firm not into designing. Based on our initial simple design and functionality can you give it to professional designers?

Awaiting for a positive reply.

Regards,
Mouli
