Job Description
Hi All,
We are looking to get a modern, sophisticated and friendly website designed and built for a growing window blinds company. We already have a website however we want a complete redesign - no similarity to the current site is required at all.
Generally speaking it will take the following structure:
1. Home Page
2. About us - history/vision/team
3.Our Products
4. Why Us
5. Picture Gallery - need to be able to upload new images of projects completed and categorise these images under the relevant products.
6.Customer Feedback Page - also an interface is needed here to allow images and reviews to be uploaded
7. News/Updates that can be updated regularly
8. Visitors need to be able to join our mailing list
9. Contact Us
We would like the website to take inspiration from the 2 sites below:
A. http://www.designercurtains.com/ - simple, clean and easy to navigate, sophisticated
B. http://www.nextdayblinds.com/ - friendly, informative and also clean/easy to navigate
The site needs to compatible will all major browsers. We are open to suggestions on design/whether a CMS system is needed as we'd need to able to update the site from time to time. Some pages will be static.
We'd like a minimum of 2/3 design concepts to choose from.
Also need social media links on the front page (Facebook and Twitter)
We may require some images to be provided.
Please only bid if you are able to design and develop well and have a portfolio of work to show.
More details will be given to the successful bid.
Note: Full Payment will only be made after we are 100% happy with the site (design/development etc), it has been tested and is up and running successfully.
thanks

T. O. on 09/02/2012 06:59Hi All,
Just to clarify, the "Full Payment will only be made after we are 100% happy" does NOT mean that no deposit will be paid into PPH escrow. It means that the balance will not be released till we are happy with the site and how it works.
What we mean by 100% happy is:
1. the site fully meets the design proposal/specification agreed upon
2. the site is live under our current domain name
3. All pages and links are working - they load smoothly and properly
4. All requested functionality regarding our ability to update the site ourselves is working
We are aware websites may in time require upgrading and tweaks and hence it can be argued that one is never 100% happy - however it would be unwise for us to pay for a job and/or service and not be satisfied with the end result. Hence why we have chosen to make our position clear at the start.
Thank You

We would be extremely interested in bidding and would appreciate the following information:-
1. Would you be in agreement to use Wordpress as the CMS?
2. Would you require a hosting and ongoing support?

T. O. on 09/02/2012 12:32Hi Steve,
If Wordpress is easy to use and can get the job done effectively/efficiently, then Yes.
We wouldnt require hosting. We would require support in terms of advise/training to update and manage the site.
Hope that helps.
thanks
S. P. on 09/02/2012 13:15Hi Tony,
Do you know if your current hosting provider allows you to run PHP scripts and has access to a MySQL database? These two technologies are required in order to install and run any kind of CMS (Content Management System).
I look forward to placing a detailed, accurate ad competitive quote for you.
Kind regards,
Stuart Pinfold

I'm not sure about the PHP scripts, but I believe the host provides unlimited MySQL Database.
thanks
N. P. on 09/02/2012 23:31The five concepts you ask for, do you mean colour schemes or completely different layouts and style? - thanks :o)

T. O. on 10/02/2012 12:54Hi N.P.
We're now aware that 5 seperate designs would be asking quite a lot of even the most creative person so we
are happy to have a minimum of 2/3 designs (different layouts/styles etc) and then just tweak the chosen design till we're happy.
Hope this helps everyone.
thanks for asking that N.P.
We will be reviewing Bids this weekend.
thanks
N. P. on 10/02/2012 15:00Thanks for replying Tony. Doing 5 concepts isn't hard, but it will(and going by my experience here) confuse and delay the outcome. If you give the designer a nice detailed brief of your requirements together with a few links to websites you like the look of....then really, you should trust the designer to do his/her thang!
Then you can tweak it here and there and within a few days, have your design looking how you envisioned it, all ready to build!
Sorry if i sound like I know-it-all, but a good web designer is also a good UX consultant and having had five years of experience I have never had to do more than one concept all with different layouts, just different colour schemes. Anyway, just saying and good luck with it :o)
