Job Description
I want to develop a Globrix (www.globrix.com) / Rightmove (www.rightmove.com) style site that allows anglers to find places to go fishing based on various criteria. The site should also include some community features: user reviews, ability to upload photos of your catches, discussion forums etc.
I would like a detailed set of mock-ups that illustrates the site's key functionality. I have a domain name and you will also need to design a logo and theme (colour scheme, fonts, icons etc.) for the site.
I have lots of other project I wish to explore so, if appropriate, this could lead to follow-on work and / or a full time role.
PLEASE NOTE: I am only after a set of mock-ups (JPEGs) - I have my own team of developers who will build the site. I need the creative inspiration and flair, not the technical capability.
For more details please read the PDF below.

Would you consider a project to design and develop the site as well as I have built sites with similar functionality.
Regards

T. H. on 02/09/2010 11:12Hi Rob,
Sorry but I already have a team of programmers that I work with and have done for a couple of years - I'm just after a set of story boards.
Cheers,
Tom.

T. H. on 02/09/2010 11:12Hi Martin, I can see from your profile that you are quite experienced - probably more than most. What sort of sum would you consider to be appropriate to develop the site and how much work / time do you think it would need?
Kind regards,
Tom.
S. C. on 02/09/2010 11:15Me neither
Globrix runs on MS fast enterprise server stack with a customized query engines for each list down
For you to just to do the html mock ups it may need "proper budget"
Good luck

T. H. on 02/09/2010 11:23Hi Nisal,
I'm not after any coding or even HTML mockups - I just want some JPEGs of the key pages.
I know Globrix well - yes they use FAST's storage engine and indexing tools; I used something similar (Nutch and Lucene) for a different project. Guided navigation is all the rage these days but you don't actually need a non-relational database a la FAST / Endeca / Auntonomy to diaply the search results. It is normally the storage of data and making sense of it that needs it - once the info is indexed the retrieval is quite easy.

I didnt mean to do a html job for you.
So you want look and feel (style) like on of the enterprise search stacks and use simple sql queries to mimic similar behavior I guess.
There is no out of the box tool to do the kind of listing other than use code framework (CI / Zend/ RoR) to deliver goods quicker.
Specially thinking of the search filters, I cannot see any think ther than custom development
D. D. on 03/09/2010 08:31I am curious, without going into too much detail, what sort of a look are you thinking about for this site?
I have ready youir brief and it details mainly content and structure, but what style you envisage. As I specialise in modern, sleek and so called 'wb 2.0' I am not certain this is the look you are seeking...

T. H. on 03/09/2010 11:33Hi,
Yes I'd quite like the "web 2.0" look - I like crisp clean lines etc.
Hope that helps,
Tom

D. D. on 03/09/2010 11:37Thanks for getting back to me Tom,
I am currently doing some work on an ongoing project for Noesis Systems, who, I am not sure if you are aware or now, bought the WBC product from Lycos just before they, (Lycos) were disolved. I have been doing some graphical work on the WBC for them and they are now looking into launching their own portal service, similar to what Lycos was and Yahoo still is, and I am setting the preliminary designs for that.
However, as I mentioned, that is an ongoing project and I have spaces in my schedule for other projects. I will give your project some thought and come up with a proposal by Monday PM.
Dominic
