J. B. on 11/03/2010 19:48Quite apart from the production costs, if the advert is going on TV, the model will cost quite a bit. Models typically get paid on a sliding scale dependent on the distribution of their image. TV rights cost more than a photo that runs in a single magazine once for instance.
15-20 per hour will not cover this or any of the other many issues concerning broadcast production. I'm happy to talk more though if you're really interested in making a commercial. But the budget will need to climb significantly. The amount of money spent on producing the advert should not be 1/10,000th of the budget spent on getting it on-air, otherwise you'll be throwing money away by getting mass viewing of something not worth viewing.
N. L. on 11/03/2010 21:31 The question a lot of hard working professionals may ask is why they would want their work to be viewed by millions for the sake of a salary lower than that of a plumber.
M. O. on 12/03/2010 00:19Oh here we go again! Peanuts per hour - oh I just want to scream!!!!!!!!!
M. M. on 12/03/2010 19:34I\\\'m afraid I agree with everyone. You may be better off hiring a decent camera and getting a friend to shoot the film then someone to upload, edit the film and output in your desired formats.
Good luck.

- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
