Title:Update MySQL database table using Filemaker Pro
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
I have a need to update a MySQL database through Filemaker Pro. Having read up on this, I know it is possible using FMPs ESS functionality, but I think it will be faster for me to get someone who knows what they\'re doing to do this rather than do it myself.
So, please quote for:
- updating around 15-20 fields in a MySQL database table using Filemaker Pro
- two of these fields will be dropdowns of values pulled from two other database tables.
As ever, price, feedback rating and the speed with which you can complete this task will all be factors in choosing the winning bidder.

R. C. on 21/02/2011 18:35Hello,
At the moment, there is a filemaker database, and then details from this are being copy and pasted in to a CMS admin system to add to the MySQL database.
Instead, I want to use Filemaker ESS to connect & open the MySQL database 'live' within Filemaker, so that changes can be made to records / new records added etc. within Filemaker itself, cutting out all of the unnecessary steps.
Thanks
Rob
J. S. on 24/02/2011 09:25Is there some reason you need to use FileMaker? Have you considered replacing it with a custom, browser based, front end for your MySQL database? This would cut out any data integrity issues and of course be available from any computer with an internet connection regardless of FileMaker being installed or not.
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
