Hi Sean,

I am intererested in bidding for the transcription work you have available. However, although I am English I actually live in France. Would you please accept a bid from me?

I work on a freelance basis for a UK-based company transcribing anything from conferences to one-on-one interviews. I also have a small number of private clients based in the UK, and this works very well.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Yvonne Glover

Hello Yvonne,

Thank you for your message. This is absolutely fine, no problem at all to work from France. Thanks for letting me know.

Best,

Sean

Hello Sean,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm really sorry to trouble you again, but having spoken to PPH, apparently in order for me to be able to submit a bid for the work, you have to change your job profile to accept bids from outside the UK. At the moment, I am prevented from bidding.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Kind regards,
Yvonne

Hello Yvonne,

I am still waiting to hear back from PPH - would you please send your email address so we can get file started? PPH sent me an automated message saying it may take up to 2 days to hear back, and it would be great to start right away if you are able.

Best,

Sean

Hi Sean

I'd love to be able to give you email address, but unfortunately, this is strictly forbidden on the clarification board and would be deleted.

Probably the best thing is to give them a call; the number is 0207 835 5950. I spoke to them yesterday on this very same subject and they were very helpful.

An alternative is to maybe resubmit the job without restricting bidding to UK.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Yvonne

Hello again Yvonne,

Thanks for your message. I just received a call from PPH and they said I can invite you to bid on the job, and we can go from there. Thank you for pointing out that it is forbidden to post email addresses on the clarification board - I certainly want to go through the properly! :) I will invite you now and with luck we can get this work started. Many thanks for the communication.

Best,

Sean

Hi I have done digital transcription work before and have all the necessary requirements. However I am used to having templates to work from. I would be very interested in the job you have advertised but please can you tell me exactly how it works, i.e. do you just send the file by email?

Thanks
Muriel

Dear Muriel,

Thank you for your message. If you are successful in your bid you will receive both a template and a formatting example for reference. The audio file is sent separately by email and when transcribed the MS Word document is sent back.

Good luck!

Hi Sean

Like Yvonne, I am British but I live in the Netherlands. I have audio equipment, Express Scribe software and can type at around 75 WPM. I only have Office 2000 at the moment as I am waiting for Office 2007 to arrive so my word files have to be saved as such. I am interested in working with you but cannot place a bid as I am non-UK. Would you be prepared to work with me if you require any further typists? I am also freelance based. Best wishes, Jo Tubbs
