C. W. on 06/09/2011 15:04Oli,
All those reference websites are trying to break into the massive "male grooming" market, started in some part by sites like mankindonline, menkindonline, etc etc, which were built by some friends of mine!
Your budget is wholly inadequate if you want something professional, good CMS, and SEO friendly, along with banners for the top brands etc.
Your budget needs at least another zero, and with all the developments since, probably 2 zeros +.
Regards and await your suitable response.

N. S. on 06/09/2011 17:35Hi Oli, just a quick question: is that actual subscription part of the site out of the scope of this job? i.e when a user adds their details and subsequently pays, is there anything more advanced required than simply sending through the data and payment confirmation in an email or database entry? Thanks!
Nick

O. M. on 07/09/2011 10:14Hi Nick
Yes we are looking to have the subscription included in the scope.
At this stage of development there is nothing further required than a simple registration and payment acceptance function.
Regards
Oli
N. S. on 07/09/2011 13:49Thanks Oli! Two other questions then: Have you decided on a payment gateway (Paypal, Sage Pay etc)? And is the subscription recurring, or does a user pay for X months up front? Thanks again,
Nick

O. M. on 07/09/2011 16:24Hi Nick
No payment gateway has been confirmed as of yet. If you have a preferred gateway or would like to make a suggestion based on previous experience please let us know.
The subscription will ideally have both options i.e. a month by month but also the option to sign-up to a longer term agreement that would offer a discount to subscribers in that case.
Hope that answers the questions.
Regards
Oli
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
