On a street in central Panama City there is an unassuming sign for a laundrette. My boyfriend was so taken with this sign he declared he wanted to hang it in our house when we finished our travels.

Sadly I couldn't bring the actual sign home with me but it's said boyfriend's birthday in early June and what I would like is for someone with the creative and technical skills I lack to recreate this sign for me to give him as a birthday present.

I'm open to suggestions on the medium and technique, but basically what I'm looking for is a faithful recreation of the sign (see attached image - I also have a higher quality .jpeg file), either taken directly from the photo itself or recreated, depending on which option will result in the highest quality image and best reproduction. Size wise, it would be the main feature on a wall in our house so it needs to be fairly big - around 1 metre by 0.5 metres. I had imagined the finished sign would be on canvas, or perhaps metal/something slightly shiny but as I said I'm open to suggestions. I would like the sign to look unique, rather than like a photo I've printed using Photobox or something I could've found in a shop. (Of course, if I'm completely over engineering this and I should just crop and print off the photo onto canvas using Photobox or suchlike that would be good to know too - I'd rather inject some more creativity into the process but don't want to waste anyone's time).

If any more information is needed please let me know!

Hi Lisa are you close to appointing an artist to complete this work please? If you have changed the specification in anyway, please can you update your requirement so we can forward relevant images for you to see? thanks Jan
