Title:Press release for iPod/iPhone software
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
We are a software company which specializes in media management software for iPods and iPhones.
We are looking to write a 400-word press release to be sent to online publications such as engadget, lifehacker etc. We frequently issue software updates and release new products, so scope for further work by a successful candidate is great.
The press release will need to highlight the main features of our product, TouchCopy. Competition is fierce in this field, so we would like to highlight that TouchCopy does much more than manage music and videos on iPods and iPhones. Here is the summary of TouchCopy features.
Transfer your entire iPod or iPhone to iTunes. You can copy music, playlists, podcasts, and videos from your iPod or iPhone to your PC or directly into iTunes. It also transfers your album art, ratings, play count, and other song data. TouchCopy lets you view and copy iPod and iPhone Photos to your computer, including photos and videos taken on your iPod or iPhone camera. Save your games from your iPod to your computer or directly back into your iTunes library. Manage and copy iPod notes, contacts, calendars and voice memos. Copy iPhone SMS. You can backup all of your iPod music, movies and playlists at the touch of a button. Search for music on your iPod. The search results can be saved to your computer or transferred into iTunes as a playlist. Play music and video on your iPod through your PC without having iTunes installed. TouchCopy supports your Last.FM account, if you have one. Use TouchCopy to change your music rating.

A. K. on 31/12/2009 07:06Hi Maya
This looks like a very interesting project. Can you let me know whether you need just the press release or if you need the release to be distributed to the online publications as well? If so will you be providing a list of the publications?
Many thanks
Amanda
M. B. on 02/01/2010 08:56Hi Amanda,
If you have an established contact at any of the relevant online publications, then that would be of benefit. But please quote for that part of the job separately from the press release writing.
Happy New Year

A. M. on 04/01/2010 11:02Hi Maya
Happy New Year.
You\\\'ve probably found your supplier by now, but just in case you haven\\\'t, here are a couple of questions?
Have you ever got any coverage on the online publications you are targetting before?
When you spoke to your target market, for what reasons did they give for wanting your app over that of the competition?
Cheers
Alex
M. B. on 07/01/2010 15:31Dear Bidders,
Thank you for your bids.
To help me chose a provider, can you please let me know are you and iPod/ iPhone/ iTunes user?
Also, please let me know have you had any of your press release published online already, and point me to their urls. Also, do you have any established contacts at any of the online publications.
In response to Alex' question, TouchCopy press releases have already appeared on various sites including
http://www.iphonehacks.com/2007/11/iphonetouchcopy.html
http://www.perivision.net/wordpress/?p=619
TouchCopy was also feature in paper-publications Mac Format and Mac World magazines.
I will provide further information on TouchCopy features, specifics on advantage over competition, etc to a successful bidder.
Thanks
Maya
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
