Job Description

1. Background
The A’² Company is developing a database driven, web based application which measures aspects of people’s Personal Development under different circumstances. This will be developed as a secure portal which can be used by Licensees, Companies and Students in their own private areas.
The application will be built so that it can be hosted on the client’s network or hosted remotely. It will also need to be able to integrate with client’s systems to download sales data and other data held centrally.

2. Prototype
The initial requirement is to develop a simpler prototype which can be used in demonstrations. This prototype should have functionality as follows:

• Questionnaire, with 25 questions within 5 sections. All answers • one choice between 1 and 10
• Questionnaire to be completed by each student twice, under different circumstances • same questions, same 1-10 answer scale.
• Compare the two scores, by question, by section and by overall 20 questions (inc the average score across each section and across the 20 questions)
• Most importantly, the results should be available as numeric results but also as VERY HIGH IMPACT graphics.
• Results will incorporate a simple calculation (the square of the answer, multiplied by a constant)
• Results should build up by user/team/division/company • to be defined by an administrator. For the prototype, it is sufficient to build into a Team view
• One version of the same questionnaire needs to be able to be completed for 360° feedback
o The questionnaire to be completed by the user’s Line Manager, x number of colleagues and y number of reports.
o Results of the 360° feedback also shown numerically and graphically for each user

• No need to worry about user access/security for the prototype
• No need to worry about version control for the prototype

3. Requirement
I am looking for someone to build the prototype at a very favourable rate, on the basis that the main system work will follow, assuming that it is purchased by the clients.

File attached show sample questions and the sort of graphics that I'm looking for.
I'm very keen to use a speedo gauge to show the difference between the answers to the two questionnaires, if at all possible.

If your client likes the system, how much do you imagine the next contact will be for?

Will you be disclosing the amount that your client will pay for the system so that the freelancer can be sure that it is a fair deal for all?

Hello Paul,

At the moment, this is speculative. The questionnaire is being used on paper with clients and we are hoping to encourage them to move to a web based system in the future. The first step is to have something to demonstrate, hence the prototype.
If we manage to sell the concept, then we will be looking to build a system which can be utilised by other clients and I would imagine that the contract would be £1,000 - £2,000 - but that's guesswork at the moment.
The client won't actually pay anything for the system - we are using this to try to keep what we've got and gain new business.
