Hi there,
We have a wiki at http://www.wikivois.org/ running Mediawiki 1.17
It contains a database of "entries". These entries are around a methodology called SROI (Social Return on Investment). So for example we have a list of "Outcome" entries here:
http://www.wikivois.org/index.php?title=Category:Outcomes
Each "Outcome" entry is a page in the wiki and has connections to other types of entries - e.g. "Indicator" entries, "Valuation" entries (they are all listing in the nav on the left below "Browse Entries").
So each entry has a page and they have connections to other entries. So far this has all been handled using Mediawiki templates, and two extensions - Semantic Media Wiki and Semantic Forms (using SMW "Properties" to connect the entries).
But this approach is now beyond the changes my client requires, so I need some custom dev.
Initially I require this:
- an extension developing (using a Mediawiki hook I would imagine) which fires when entry pages are edited. This will perform a set of tasks (like edit the pages of related entries). I'll provide full details of what this set of tasks.
I imagine your main initial task will be to acquaint yourself with the current system - with how the page templates, Semantic Media Wiki and Semantic Forms works to create, connect and edit the entries.
I can point you at a dev server with a version of this to play with. Plus I have a subversion server you can checkout from and commit to.
Then hopefully you can create the extension for me...
