Title:PHP / MYSQL Help for web based job site
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
Hi
I have a website that holds information about companies and advertises their jobs. It may not be the best technically but it all works. At the moment it is possible to use the site and apply for jobs freely.
I want to build a membership capability. I want a members area, that you would be forced to log into if you wanted to apply for a job. Each member must provide basic info - name, email etc and they should have the option of adding to their profile to create a complete job seeker profile with the ability of adding a CV and cover letter. They should also have the choice of switching their profile from live to hidden.
The site must be secure because of the data involved but does not require payment options.
The site is UK based and I am open to listen to options regarding the locations issues
I also will want to build an employers search capability but at this point this is not in the spec.
Job Budget
Type:Fixed Price

Clarification Board
T. G. on 05/03/2011 14:14Hi David,
I am sure that I will be able to help you move this project to the next level but can you please clarify what language has been used to build the site?
Do you have a MySQL database capability already?
Regards Tony.

D. C. on 05/03/2011 15:10Tony -------Most of the site has been built with html. The add job admin section and job display are php and mysql which i built myself. TBH I have been teaching myself php as I went along and put together a simple member area myself using online tutorials. It contained the email activation registration bit and so on but I didn't have the knowledge to take this further nor adapt it to personal use .....also because I am handling peoples data I was worried about security. Finally I had no idea how to create sessions for a user that would restrict access to his data alone...like I said I really am a beginner. I do have mysql database already and already have it operating with the job posting.
T. G. on 05/03/2011 15:43Hi David thanks for the quick response. I have sent you a bid for this project and you will see that I have the necessary experience to help you with this and you should also learn a lot along the way too!
Tony.
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
