Title:Online Strategy, Web Site Design, Development and Implementation -

Location:Anywhere

Job Description

Hi,

We are a London based chocolate and Confectionery Company, specialising in supplying the higher end of the market such as department stores, speciality food shops etc. Our brand has been around since 2003 and maintained a high profile presence in some of the lading shops in the world but we re-launched the company in 2008 and since then had no web presence.

We are looking for a professional or company that will help us develop our online strategy and implement it. At the moment we don’t have a fixed budget allocated for this project and needless to say as a small business we do not want to spend the world. But at the same time we don’t want to just have an online brochure. We see the internet as THE sales channel that offers the maximum growth potential.

Our goal is to reach an average of 20 online sales per day (to the consumer) within 12 months of launching our web solution. We think (hope, feel) this can be done with a good strategy that encompasses a web store, good search engine optimisation and perhaps with the use of social media marketing etc. At the same time, with little practical experience, perhaps we are being too ambitious with our goals.

Basically we need to be working with an experienced professional (or a group of professionals) who will be able to look at our business, understand what we want to achieve and offer a strategic solution to get us there at a reasonable price. This is a long term project and hopefully one that will grow bigger in time with increased sales.

At this stage we would like to invite companies and professionals to present themselves, perhaps an idea of what can be done and rough estimates on costing. If you feel that you can only supply a part of the solution but know of others who can help with the rest, please feel free to bid collectively.

Our aim is to award the business to our chosen partner by mid-April and we will be contacting any short-listed bidders by March 23rd for an official quote so if interested please do make sure to send us your draft proposals and information as soon as possible.

In the mean time, please don’t hesitate to contact me any time should you have any questions or would like more information either about our company, our goals, the project or the process

Look forward to hear from you

Michael Farhi

Hi Michael,
Your job sounds interesting. I have a couple of questions:

Roughly how many products would you be selling online?
Can you say what your brand is?

Many thanks
Rupert

Hi Rupert,

Our brand is called Rita Farhi, I think there are a number of older pictures online if you google.

The number of products is a good question. Although we have hundreds of sku's my gut feeling is to start with a more consolidated range where we can hold stock relatively easy and build on that. However, in terms of a solution, we would like to have the flexibility of adding or removing new lines as and when necessary

michael

Michael,

I have a question is the sales channel just website only or are you looking to embrace other channels i.e. eBay, Amazon etc? Just so I can spec this up correctly.

Many thanks

Sean

Hi Sean,

Himmmm, my initial thought is perhaps yes to Amazon and no to ebay. I am not sure if ebay is the right medium to build a brand (but that's just my perception and I am open to suggestions on this)

But certainly as many sales channels that is possible as long as it's reasonable to manage them

Regards

Michael
