Title:Online Appointment Schedule

Location:Anywhere

Job Description

What we need is an appointment schedular similar to Google\'s Calendar but with a few differences. The user would open their browser, go to our website, login and provide the connection string for their SQL database. The schedular would use data from their local SQL database.
Aside from the usual features that Google\'s Calendar has, we would need these features:
1. An easy way to create and navigate to/from different calendars. This is necessary for offices with multiple doctors. Each doctor would need their own calendar and there would need to be an easy way to navigate between them.
2. A way to block out appointment times. example: lunch hour or days the doctor doesn\'t work.
3. Defined appointment types. User can choose an appointment type that would be color-coded and it would define a period of time to allot for that appointment. For example a certain type of exam may require 30 minutes while another type may only require 10 minutes.
4. a Search function (Google has that)
5. User should be able to print out a daily, weekly or monthly schedule
6. When making an appointment, the program should be able to pick patients from the database and insert the data automatically. If its a new patient, it should add them to the database.
6. lastly, there would be more data collected for each appointment. Data needed would include:
a. Name, Sex, email address, reason for visit, insurance company name, home/work/cell phone, member service ID, member ID, primary name, primary SS#, date of birth, new/previous patient, notes, patient showed yes/no. Some of this data, like insurance company and reason for visit, would be retrievable from the database.

Hi, we have developed a similar Calendar module for HRM system for FCPL company (Hampshire, Aldershot).
We also did a projecting of appointment system in 2008, but because of the financial crisis this project was canceled. Both projects used PHP as a programming language and MySQL as a database. We planned to use ZendFramework for the quicker development process of an appointment system.
Please kindly invite us to bid :)

Hi Anthony,

Are you saying that each office has its own SQL Server database? And this data is completely IDENTICAL for each office? Obviously these SQL Servers would need to be accessible via the web (not local).

Also, are you expecting the app to pull data from these SQL Servers in real time, or persist any of the data on your own SQL Server?

How many different SQL Servers data sources are we talking about? Due to the sensitive nature of this project what security concerns do you have?

Do you have hosting already arranged?

Thanks

Assumptions:
Each local database looks the same, and is web visible.
database access is via the user login rather than a generic web login (since this is obviously private data)
all of this is hosted on secure systems.
All quite feasible - and the budget looks to be in the correct ballpark. We'd be interested in beong invited to bid, and seeing the full specification (NDA, obviously)
