Title:New Artist Guide Book
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
I require a guide for someone attempting to break into the music industry. It will be aimed at 16-25 year olds and I am looking for it to be written with that audience in mind.
The piece must comprise eight chapters of 500 words per chapter covering the following headings:
- Band or solo artist?
- How much talent do you really need?
- Naming your act
- The use of backing tracks
- Rehearsing
- Vocals and vocal training
-Choreography
-Creating an image
Please try and include as many tips, helpful advice, anecdotes and real examples as possible.
This piece is intended as part of a series and the above headings are specific to the first part and all that is required at this point.
Thank you for considering this post,
Kindest Regards.

M. G. on 14/10/2009 13:37Less than £250? Exactly how much work do you think is involved? These 500-word chapters are very specific and dependent of some very specialist knowledge. Even assuming the writer knows all there is to know about every area (highly unlikely) and needs to do no research whatsoever, each one would require a good level of detail for them to be of any use at all. With all due respect, I suggest your budget is way too low and if you do get someone to do it for that price, I would be very wary of any advice they might give. Particularly as they would be giving it to young and impressionable people.
M. L. on 14/10/2009 13:48I\'m sorry to have to say that I totally agree with matthew\'s comments below re the amount of work involved for the price you are asking - its frankly laughable. Sincerely.
G. W. on 14/10/2009 14:01That is per chapter? Even then it\'s a bit cheeky for what\'s being asked.
Remember, pay peanuts, get monkeys.
F. M. on 14/10/2009 15:22Well done all of you who have posted a complaint about the money offered for this job!!
Too many of the writing jobs on peopleperhour offer a ludicrously small amount of money whilst asking for a professional standard of work.
Unfortunately, there are always people willing to bid for the work. Maybe if people keep complaining, employers will be too embarrassed to pay so little.
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
