Title:Latter Transcription

Location:Anywhere

Job Description

I have the originals of around 130 letters written by my wife to my parents when my family was overseas in the 1980s. I would like them to be transcribed into MS Word (2003). Her writing is reasonably legible. There are also occasional letters which are from myself and our children which I would like to include. The transcriber would have to adopt a consistency of format, the hard copies will be supplied in chronological order . There may also be some conventions which need to be followed for phoenetically spelt arabic words and sections of my wife\'s letters written by me. A pdf example of a letter is attached. The letter are of varying length and paper size and type. I would require complete discretion as the documents are private. Also the originals must be kept safe and returned to me. This is a surprise present so no postal communications should be made without prior arrangement.

Dear Paul

Would you be able to give an idea of roughly how many pages there are in total? This would enable me to give an accurate bid.

Many thanks

Jenny

Hi Jenny

This is difficult to be precise about. The pages vary in size from foolscap to 10cm square.

There are actually 160 letters (I just counted them) I guess the average length is probably around 800 words but there a few which are less than 200.

Hope this helps

Paul

Have you thought about reading these into a dictaphone? You would then not need to have the letter leave your possesion. Much safer for something that is so special.

Regards
Jo
