Info-graphic design with java

Hi there.
We need someone to take over an info-graphic design in java on our website.
It was started by a programmer but he couldn't finish it.

The design visualizes the data of the UN Human Development Report 2011: 180 indicators (vertical menu) for each country (horizontal menu).
The graphic basically rank the countries accordingly to a specific indicator through a color ramp. The color gradient is related to the position of the country in the rank, from 1 to 180. It is meant to work as an excel conditional formatting.
There is a menu on the left which should expand/collapse when a specific indicator is selected. Additionally, when one indicator is selected, the country ranking should re-order accordingly to it and so, all the values (colors) in the matrix.
A second stage of the work will be the addition of a world map with all countries that dynamically re-colour when an indicator is chosen.

We are trying to work on these kind of visualizations and future similar works are likely to happen.
