Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are a small IT consultancy and support company based in Swanley, Kent. We provide regular IT support and services to a range of clients based in London and Kent.
Our client networks range from a basic 5 - 6 PC network, to a company with over 70 PCs spread over 3 VPN enabled offices, with more standard 30-35 PC networks in between.
All of our clients run on Microsoft Windows (including servers), with a few Apple Mac's dotted here and there.
Due to an increasing work load, we are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and motivated IT engineer who could be available for part-time/ad-hoc work helping support our clients. If things worked out - this could lead to a full-time post.
We are looking for someone based in either South East London, or North West Kent - ideally not very far from Swanley at all. This job will require you to travel to client sites - so remote support is NOT an option.
You must have good communication and people skills, know how to use your common sense and think for yourself, and be able to work alone if/when required. Owning your own vehicle would be a bonus, but not essential.
In terms of technical ability, we are ideally are looking for someone with a good experience of supporting multiple Windows networks, ideally including Windows Server too. Microsoft qualifications (such as MCSA) would be preferred.
However there is a possibility that we may still be interested in someone with less server experience, and help them learn new things during the jobs - however you must still know a good level regarding basic networking and PC support from the off.
Initially we can not guarantee any set hours per week, it would simply be ad-hoc to begin with. But if we find someone who ticks the right boxes then potentially it could lead to more jobs being passed on, thus freeing up other people within the business to look for more work and hence grow the company.
