Title:Holiday rentals website - legal advice
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
We are a new company offering term holiday lets (in one property, but soon to be more). We have an online booking website which is ready to go live.
We'd like someone to review the following to make sure that we have covered all the key areas and are not leaving ourselves exposed:
- Terms & Conditions
- Bookings Policy
- Privacy Policy
- Website terms of Use
Please confirm that you are able to review our website this week. I can then forward you the URL so that you confirm your estimate for this job.
Please find enclosed the draft T&C's, Privacy Policy and Website Terms of use - which you can review before placing a bid.
If the bid is accepted, you will be able to see them in situ on our website, and I can send you the URL.
Many thanks 1 Attachment(s) included.

Thanks for your interest - I'd be happy to help. Would it be possible to post (perhaps as a Word document) what you already have in terms of T&Cs, policies etc? I ask simply because the amount of work required for 'review' projects can vary wildly.
With regards to timing, I could certainly complete this project by the end of the week.
Best regards
Juliette

C. N. on 22/04/2010 18:47Dear Juliette, Thanks so much for getting back to me. The terms and conditions are fully drafted (along with the Privacy policy and Website terms of use). I feel 95% sure that they are OK. Is there a way of sending you a URL to our website - ideally I don't want it to be publically visible as the website is not live yet...
Thanks & look forward to hearing from you.

I've edited the job ad to include the T&C's for review as a word document.
I'm not sure how long it takes to appear in the ad, but if you check today hopefully it will be there!
Look forward to hearing back from you.

J. B. on 23/04/2010 13:38Dear Charlotte
That's great, thanks for your help - unfortunately, the document isn't appearing yet. I know time is short on this project, so I have contacted PPH and asked them what we can do. They have recently made a point of emphasising that we cannot send URLs etc before bids are accepted, but hopefully they will have a solution.
I am hoping that 'by the end of the week' included the weekend, but if we can get this sorted out today and you choose to accept my bid, I can have the documents ready for Monday morning, or earlier if necessary.
I'll let you know what PPH say.
Thanks
Juliette
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
