Title:Holding website needed

Location:Anywhere

Job Description

Simple, clean but professional looking \"coming soon\" website required as a placeholder until the full website (which is currently being built) is ready to launch.

The holding webpage will have some text, a few links, a large photo with a text box in the photo (similar to how Bing and Songkick look) for people to enter their email address into in order to be informed when the website is ready.

There should be some text or another page to confirm that the email address has been successfully submitted.

I will supply the photo but the winning bidder needs to do the rest.

In particular, there needs to be a way to collate the email addresses which people submit.

The holding website will be hosted on free website but will be advert free.

The successful bidder will need to enter into a non-disclosure agreement and a contract to transfer over the intellectual property in the holding website.

Hi, before i place a bid, can you please confirm whether you need to collate the email address's into a database or simply have them emailed to you (this can be done much quicker so will cost less overall)

Thanks,

Chris James.

Hi Francis, What is the free hosting service which you are using?
F. H.F. H. on 20/02/2010 19:47
x10hosting is probably going to be the one. I know little about free hosting though. Presumably this is OK?

Hi, thanks for responding quickly.

It seems that x10hosting will be fine for the PHP needed for a data capture form.... Could you also answer the question below regarding how you would like the email addresses to be collated? As Chris has pointed out, there would be a big price difference between having them collated into a database, and simply having them emailed to you.

I THINK I MUST HAVE LOST THE PLOT: ARE YOU TAKING THE ****? IT IS A SERIOUS QUESTION! YOU ARE ASKING SOMEONE TO MAKE A HOLDING WEBPAGE, FOR A WEBSITE THAT YOU HARE ALREADY HAVING MADE!

SO EITHER YOU HAVE A STUPID AND RUBBISH WEB DESIGNER OR YOU ARE MADDER THAN I AM AND I AM COMPLETELY MAD!

IT IS NOT TRUE THAT COLLATING THE EMAILS WILL COST MORE - WHY BECAUSE IF I AM MAKING A WEBSITE FOR SOMEONE AND THEY WANT THE EMAILS COLLATING THEN THIS WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE OVERALL PRICE OF THE WEBSITE

AND GUESS WHAT? I WILL INCLUDE THE HOLDING PAGE AND IT WILL TAKE 10 MINUTES TO PUT UP THE HOLDING PAGE AND COLLECT ANY EMAILS!

IT WOULD OF COURSE TAKE LONGER TO GET THE DESIGN TO WHAT YOU WANT - BUT I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE SERIOUS THAT YOU HAVE SOMEONE MAKING A WEBSITE FOR YOU AND YOU WANT ANOTHER PERSON TO PUT A HOLDING PAGE?

THERE ARE A NUMBER COMPANIES THAT WILL COLLECT THE EMAILS SUBMITTED FOR YOU AND THEN KEEP THEM COLLATED AND EMAIL YOU THE RESULTS.

To Marianne:

CSV or text file would be fine.

Thanks
