Title:Help with linking to a Flash website
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
Hi,
We currently have a flash website. We sell branded fashion. We are very happy with the look for the site however when we use google adwords we cannot link the advert directly to the part of the site we wish the consumer to land on. They always land on the home page. Can someone assist in programming the link to work so that the consumer lands on the relevant part of the site.

H. D. on 03/07/2008 11:32Dear Tim,
Good Morning to you. I am Hemang Dani, Director, BCOD Web Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Glad to know that you are having a flash website selling fashion.
This is the biggest drawback of using flash on the website as the landing page can never be the desired frame.
Is your online shopping cart in flash as well ?
If note, you can as well promote that then ?
Shall you need to clarify anything else, Please feel free to post here. I shall be more than happy to assist you and clarify your doubts.
Thank you
Hemang Dani
J. B. on 04/07/2008 10:11Hi, the way round the unsearchable flash site it usually to have a mirror HTML site, a static site that looks like your flash site but has html content.
This is a bit of a pain as if you add or delete a product you have to update two areas, however it is fully searchable by web bots and you can link back to your flash site from there. But linking back to the flash site will always start at the landing page. Another way, would be to split up the sections of your flash site, putting each section into a new HTML page these pages can have searchable key words, it is breaking the flow of the flash site slightly, but at least you can direct potential buyers to the relevant sections.
Hope this is some help, and if you need a quote on above please post a new project and I'll look out for it
Regards
John Battram
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
