Title:Help with limited company accounts and CT600
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
Hi, I have a small limited company and have undertaken completing my accounts using an excel based package called diyaccounting. I have fallen behind with my CT600 submissions, and am now attempting to post using the HMRC online service. The problem I have, and I hope someone can assist with, is that the Balance Sheet 'Trade Debtors' is a negative value, and hence the HMRC form will not accept it. I need someone with experience of limited company accounts, CT600, and preferably worked with diyaccounting package to verify/correct the computations and advise on how to proceed. As stated before, this is a small company, with minimal trading (mostly bank charges and interest, with a couple of purchase and sales).
I cannot foresee this taking an experience accountant any more than a couple of hours work.

N. M. on 14/02/2010 18:16Hi,
This is Nil Manush.
Trade debtors/Accounts receivable can show negative balance only if you realize proceeds/collections more than your sales from any buyers/regular buyers. Basically this happen with a regular buyer and it is a common phenomenon in manufacturing businesses who are handling accounts manually. You have to check with the sub-ledger of every buyers of your goods by tracking down the general ledger of Accounts receivable/Trade debtors.
Furthermore, See my profile and its your choice then.
Thanx
N. M. on 14/02/2010 18:43Hi,
This is Nil Manush again.
I've forgotten to tell you another thing that is if you maintain current account with the buyer that you not only sell your goods but also sometimes buy goods from that buyer then it may show negative balance and then it shall be accounted for as a creditor.
Thanx
